Messy, small, and shacky....and incredibly tasty. This is the original standing location since 1946 and does not disappoint you at all. You can eat at any Tommy’s joint in California but this one will always remain the original and for some reason, even more tasty. Go now.
The burgers are ok, nothing memorable. The garlic fries are pretty good. We ordered the breaded mushrooms and I think they made me sick. It was either the mushrooms or the burger. I'm giving this place 3 stars because it's overpriced and I felt sick afterwards. If the burgers were good, then I wouldn't complain. $10 for a disappointing burger? Fries and drinks are ordered separately? No thanks.
I've been eating at the OG Tommy's since I discovered it back in high-school. So yummy! 💛 Social distancing and masks are required so it's definitely safe to go. The service is very fast so you'll get in and out quickly. There is tons of parking too. My meal is always on point at the OG Tommy's. I've never had a burger 🍔 or 🍟 that didn't come out right or taste different. They are pros at what they do. Love it! 💘
My all time favorite burgers. Just love them.
The Orignal Tommy's on Rampart and Beverly has ALWAYS been the best burger place. 3rd generation Angeleno's opinion. Went the first time with my Grandma. She was born here, in Los Angeles. If you're looking for a place to sit down and be served, not for you. If you're looking to get your grub on and get a little messy this is the place. Get plenty of napkins.
There's plenty of vegan options on the menu. The restaurant had plenty of seating and the manager Peter and all the other employees were so friendly- truly making it a neighborhood joint. Also, on the weekdays they close at 11 pm and weekends at midnight which is perfect for late night dining. This restaurant is so nice and will be a game changer to the neighborhood. Looking forward to going back for more.
If you like sloppy, greasy, loaded burgers that taste delicious, this is probably the place for you! Yaki's is a long time fave of mine from la crescents to Montrose location. They are sometimes hit n miss, but overall they have great tasting burgers. If you look at their food, it literally looks like a disaster, but when you bite into the burger, it tastes soooo good! I can't say much about their other items, but their burger and fries taste bomb. I would totally recommend it!
What could be said sbout Tommy's that hasn't been heard already ? . Great chili dogs and tasty chili cheeseburgers & chili cheese fries the menu isn't very long but there's something for everybody who ain't looking for a boring salad ,😲 Tommy's 👍👍 !
Great hot dog. Juicy all beef dog with nice texture and robust taste. Tastes even better with the lightly toasted Hawaiian bread. The tater tots were normal. Ambiance was casual and light. Got full with one hot dog. Thai curry wurst and regular dog were superb. I liked the regular dog better, but would like to try more sausage varieties.
What a quaint burger place! We had a teriyaki chicken and onion rings. Can't wait to try their burgers. Great service!
I celebrated my graduation earlier this evening in this delicious restaurant. I am glad to say that we had a brilliant evening and the place was no doubt one of the reasons for that strong gathering. The waiters contributed in a very nice style, the food was great and my guests were very delighted. We shall surely visit again for more events. thanks very much.
Best in the world! Having a burger from this grill should be on everybody's bucket list
Tommy's is the quintessential La hamburger joint. No Nonsense, small menu, and probably the best chili cheese burgers in the country. The restaurant is Tiny, simple, and there's no frills at all. You stand in line Outdoors, you get your food and you stand a eat it Outdoors. This is a place where rich and poor and people of every race, religion and ethnicity come together to experience the joy of an incredible Burger, extraordinary chili and true Los Angeles ambience
Always a Los Angeles original. Chili cheese burger or hot dog plus the chili cheese fries. I just miss drinking a Coca Cola with my food. Pepsi is just to flat and sweet. Bring back the Coca Cola.
Absolutely love this place. I've been coming here since I was a kid and it still has the same great quality and service. I'm definitely a happy customer.
Solid spot for burgers. The venue is very Disney and Hollywood theme from parking lot to interior. The burger and sandwich are Instagram worthy and they big. Definitely try their fried chicken sandwich!
B O M B. The burgers are just sooo juicy. I always get a bacon cheeseburger. The milkshakes are also awesome(I'm very picky) and you can basically create your own.
Super Duper is one of my favorite places to get a burger. They were open on New Years so I came here with my boyfriend for our first meal of the year. They have some of the best fries (both regular and garlic - super garlicky topped with melted parmesan cheese). I love that they have mini burgers if you're not too hungry or not trying to consume as many calories. I've had the veggie burger and chicken sandwich as well too and both are great! Overall, this is a great place to eat if you're vegan, vegetarian, trying to avoid eating red meat, or if you love a good ol' burger. There are options for everyone.
Delicious food to go! Quick and friendly service - even during Covid-19. North Shore is a go to before a movie at the theater nearby for our family but we recently got take out. It was just as good as being in there! The salad was especially fresh and I LOVE their ranch.
Definitely recommend. Will be back. The burgers are great with that light "crust" on the outside, and juicy on the inside, only achievable on a seasoned flat top by a seasoned cook!
Had the It's All About the Plants Burger and Vegan Milkshake. It was out of this world. Burgers were fire and will be back again. A great discovery!
Chili has the consistency of tar and they put it on everything. I remember the old days when you got a bag of steak fries and a tasty burger.
I'm from Los Angeles. We don't have elites like this. I made it a point to go to the corn man. We took a left from atlas at around 11:30 to get some corn.... stepped out of the tuber excited.. I guess he was the son.. said we prob won't be able to get any corn because there was a long line ahead of us.. we were so sad and jumped back into the left.
1st time there. Was visiting from Houston. My sons are fans of In-N-Out and heard it described as a knock off version so we gave it a try. The prices were reasonable and the food was good. The service was pleasant and timely. Did not like that you must stand to eat. Again we were visiting from out of town so we didn't have a car. The overall experience was nice, can check it off of things tried...would recommend others to try it too.
Best Chili Cheese Dog and Chili Cheese fries I tasted so far. At first, I thought we didn't order enough food, but after seeing the monstrous amount of chili they put on everything I felt VERY good about our decision. As for the flavors, I felt the chili had a ton of flavor and was very good. It was clumpy and thick with beans and lots of meat spread within. If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I would!
This spot is really good!! One of my fav chicken sandwich spots!! I also love the spicy tots, herbs and egg topping is really tasty
Sure miss your triple chili cheese burger and chili cheese frys , as I now live in Boise Idaho ! It would be awesome if you opened a Tommy's up here , it would be a huge hit
Burger is messy. Ordered a cheeseburger. Really taste good. Although the presentation is poor. Fast order. Parking available. This place doesn't have a sit down area. Friendly staff.
I liked it. Reminded me of in n out. Flavorful and fresh tasting. Got the regular cheeseburger. Their menu is quite extensive for a fast food place.Quick service. The only down side was that the burger was super greasy! Good thing the bun sucked up the grease.Would recommend to others and return. Original Tommy's Hamburgers
So happy they were able to reopen for business!! Our go-to spot if we're craving a burger or chicken sandwich! Their queso tots are also amazing
JuicyInventive but not crazy.Great sauce selection.Awesome onion rings (in my opinion, better than the fries even).and BYOB!Fun, casual, delicious.I will definitely be back!
Fries are sub par, burgers leave a lot to be desired and im just talking flavor of the meat. The menu gives a nice selection of options but it just doesn't seem worth the trouble of getting into their parking lot or waiting in the long line or dealing with the poor customer service. If you're looking for a quick tasty burger you're better off going to in and out.
Everytime I go to L.A. i have to eat an Originals Tommy's burger. There was a bit a line but was worth the wait.
I had always heard about Tommy's but I had never gone. It is most definitely the hype. Not only is the quality and quantity well worth the price, but because they know they are in high demand, their service and speed in delivering the order was literally almost instant. These guys are ready to go at any moment and quite frankly there needs to be more Tommy's in LA. The ladies at the counter were also very nice! Will definitely come back.
I legit don't understand what the hype is about these hamburgers or their chili. They both are lesser versions than other name brand places, but even local places are better. I think the crazy amount of 5 stars is because they are supposed to be an institution or something. Either way, save your money and go somewhere else. Not the worst but nowhere near exceptional.
Love the food. Lots of parking. Great service.
Good like always.. clean and neat.. social distancing tags on floor... 20- 30 min wait after ordering... a bit long for fast food... But that's our new normal... I do not go often..but each and everytime I enjoy my food..
I remember back in the 80’s that Tommy’s was a Friday night treat after a High School football game. The burger was probably better made back then that you now notice the patty tastes like a cheap assembly-line product today. And the chili on top of the burger back then tasted like a compliment to the burger; it was most likely made daily. Today, it tastes like it came out of a can. Much like King Taco, or The Hat, back in the 80’s, Tommy’s was an iconic burger experience (kinda like Famous Amos Cookies.) Today, it’s just another burger chain trying to imitate McDonald’s value burger with a can of chili on top.
My Mom used to go there when she was a teen back in the 40s. I started going there in the 70s, 80s after concerts, or just outings. Midnight munchies. Loved this place.
Wow. This is my new favorite fried chicken spot! My partner and I drove out from Koreatown on a whim to fill a craving and it was totally worth the drive. Bonus: the staff is really friendly. Definitely going back ASAP.
My husband and I like to go here for the breakfast! We like the people, very laid back, and relaxed. And the food has always been Very Good! They have every game you can imagine and a bunch of TVs. Fun, good food, and warm and friendly.Go there and enjoy....
Just as I remember! yummy! Haven't been back since the late 80's, brings back memories, Thanks Original Tommy's and staff
The food is always consistently delicious. The flavors always make me happy!
If ever been to TOMMY'S you would go back in time to the days of AMERICAN GRAFFITI! ! Great food and the notalgia of the years long gone is ever prevent. If you don't go there to Eat a Doble Chili Cheese Burger you have Not been in LA.
I would have gone with five stars if they would have given me more chili. However, maybe they do not at Beverly and Rampart. Still very tasty.
Food always great social distancing very organized. Great spot to go out and get food. A lil taste of normalcy.
Don't forget the steak sandwiches, they are awesome as well.We were impressed by the friendly and helpful staff taking our order and bringing out the food.
They are not currently open 24 hour, but still they have displayed sign for ‘we never closed’ or ‘open 24 hour’ on the Internet and at the store. I understand they are not operating for the entire day due to pandemic, but they should update their business time, so people do not waste their time.
Today the workers were so nice I felt that it was my duty as a resident of Original Tommy's World Famous Hamburgers to write a review (hahahhahahah) Marvin served us and he was super super friendly and its 12:30 am he seemed really happy. I wish I could be as happy as he was during my lunch hour at my job haha okay goodnight!
Great chili cheese burger and fries. Been coming here since 1974. Full covid precautions in place.
